Book Review | Hypnotic Seduction

Hypnotic Seduction (Seduction, #1)

Hypnotic Seduction by L.L. Kellogg
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Very slow start and too much sexing. The first four chapters were funny and kept me intrigued but then once the sex talk wouldn’t end, it took away from what I started reading for from the beginning: an actual story. I can’t give it anything over 2 stars.

Now Let’s Get Personal

I tried to finish this book a few times. Explicit sex scenes were just too much. That begs the question: When is it too much sex in a book?

I’ve read a lot of contemporary romance where the written sex and done tastefully but when a book has more pornographic details than it does a storyline, it becomes boring to me.

I am definitely not a prude, so don’t take this the wrong way. I stream erotic games on Pornhub and I don’t hide it. If they placed if the book under a romance category and not a Literotica, I will not revisit it. There are some authors who believe that since they want to write for an adult audience, adding nine out of fourteen chapters of dirty talk is too much. You can tell a story without becoming too explicit. I have read some spotless and wonderful literature that left a good impression. It made me feel warm and in love, especially if the character development was very well.

What exactly was this book about? What was the conflict besides the main character feeling erotically charged over the sight of her boss’s biceps? I cannot remember because there was nothing to remember.

Maybe this may be the book for you, but it is definitely not the book for me. I’ll store it away in the archive.
